  • Bring your own boat, kayak, canoe or other vessel for launch at the Suisun City Boat Launch located at the south end of Kellogg Avenue. The affordable day parking rates, adjacent fuel dock and boating services available at California Marine Sports make it a great entry into the Delta for any boater. There's no need to venture onto the water to experience a Suisun Marsh adventure.

  • Start at the Suisun Wildlife Center (1171 Kellogg Street), a state and federally certified native animal rescue center specializing in nursing for release abandoned infant animals. Open 7-days a week, the Center has a number of animals on display and an education center staffed by knowledgeable volunteers. Info: SuisunWildlife.org; 429-4295
  • The Wildlife Center is at the gate to the Peytonia Slough State Ecological Reserve, which offers easy, flat hiking trails into the Marsh with access to several favorite fishing spots. Info: DFG.ca.gov; 944-5500
  • Just a couple of miles east of the Waterfront District on Grizzly Island Road is Rush Ranch, an 19th Century style ranch with 2,070 acres of open space, trails, vistas and monthly interactive events. Info: RushRanch.net; 432-0150
