Solano County is a treasure to all of us who call it home, and we invite you to explore our communities to find out why. Tucked away in our communities are hidden gems, world renowned destinations, and exciting attractions that make Solano County a great place to visit for a day, a week, or longer.

The open space between our communities and miles of waterfront provide the perfect backdrop for the family friendly atmosphere you will experience wherever you go. Whether it is bird watching in Lynch Canyon, admiring the artistry of glassblowers in Benicia, or enjoying our abundance of museums, performing artists and festivals, Solano County is simply a splendid place to step back and relax.

The waterfronts of Benicia, Vallejo, Suisun City and Rio Vista and the charming downtowns of Vacaville, Dixon and Fairfield provide the perfect venues for strolling, shopping or that uniquely Solano restaurant with big city flavors. The county's rich agricultural heritage offers visitors awe-inspiring drives through the back roads, the hills, local parks, and vineyards. Along the way you will want to stop by one of our many farm fresh produce stands and weekly farmers markets to take a taste of Solano Grown produce back home.

The history of the area and California can be found in each of our seven cities, where early architecture often stands alongside modern glass and steel buildings. While each city has a distinct personality, they all offer visitors the opportunity to experience many different things - the nostalgia of the past, serenity of the present, and the promise of a prosperous future.

This Visitors Guide provides information on many of the attractions you'll find in Solano County. We hope that you find it useful. On behalf of the Solano County Board of Supervisors, I invite you to visit and enjoy all that Solano County has to offer.

Sincerely,

Linda J. Seifert, Chair
Solano County Board of Supervisors
